If you like movies about dreams and movies about Vietnam this movie could be for you. Nightwars brings Nightmare on Elm Street together with Missing in Action. Seems difficult to do right? So two old army buddies that have regular dreams and nightmares about Vietnam start experiencing the pain and wounds of their dreams. The dreams mostly revolve around their old friend Mac, or Jimmy, he died but they somehow find out he is alive in dreamland. Yeah, if it sounds dumb it is.
It goes back and forth pretty predictably, Grizzly Adams is in it but he does not do much. He is actually responsible for getting the main character’s (lets call him MC) wife killed and not really trying to intervene when he witnesses. Probably misses Ben. They go in and out of nightmare time trying to help Jimmy-Mac and kill Viet-Cong Vince. Eventually they smarten up and bring all their gear with them…including face paint to fight.
There are some funny scenes, funny deaths and bad stunts. The bad guy is from New Work or Eastern Pennsylvannia, not Vietnam like you would think. Sometimes they fire off rounds while sleeping, into the walls and ceilings…nobody seems to mind though. That’s about it…I think you should watch something else.
